We recently attended the IDET 2025 international exhibition in Brno, one of the main events of the year for the European defence sector. More than 650 companies from 35 countries came here to showcase their developments and strengthen partnerships.

Market leaders Rheinmetall, Elbit Systems, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, Finland’s Patria, and Czech giants Czechoslovak Group, Česká Zbrojovka and EVPÚ Defence presented their latest innovations. The exhibition clearly demonstrated how Europe is restructuring its industry to meet modern challenges.

The new Pandur 8×8 EVO armoured personnel carrier from Tatra Defence Vehicle deserved special attention. This vehicle impresses with its advanced digital systems, protection and remotely controlled combat module — a combination that reflects the direction of modern armoured vehicle development.

In addition to traditional equipment, there was a noticeable increase in interest in autonomous solutions – UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles). We closely studied the developments of LPP – unmanned ground platforms with remote control and the ability to coordinate with strike drones. Robots on the battlefield are no longer science fiction, but reality.

We held a series of negotiations with representatives of leading companies. The main topics were localisation of production, introduction of digital technologies and standardisation. Such interaction is important for improving the efficiency of the entire shipment chain.

Our impressions of IDET are a vivid confirmation that the European defence industry is moving towards high technology and autonomy.

For us, this exhibition was an important platform not only for learning about new technologies, but also for constructive negotiations with business partners to identify promising areas of cooperation and further steps in our work. We will report on the results of these meetings in the near future.
